Pet Fashion Week NY kicked off 2008 by presenting the world’s largest pet industry runway shows in Japan. The illustrious shows were the highlight of the New Year Dog Party, held on January 12th and 13th, 2008, at Tokyo Big Sight.

Eighteen selected pet apparel and accessory designers presented demi-couture collections to an audience of over 3,000 pet fashion enthusiasts. The designs, many created specifically for the event, reflected the spectacular energy of New York City. The designers were hand-picked by Pet Fashion Week NY to represent the best in the pet fashion industry. Six human apparel designers also showed their collections on the runways, complimenting the canine designs.

On the evening of January 12th, approximately 100 international buyers attended an exclusive Wholesale Reception held at the luxurious Hotel Nikko. Guests enjoyed hor’ dourves and cocktails while viewing new ready to wear collections from the presenting designers. As the world’s only design platform for the pet lifestyle industry, Pet Fashion Week NY is committed to providing pet product designers with promotional opportunities. The reception allowed designers to expand their reach in the $10 billion Japanese pet market.

Pet Fashion Week NY - The Tokyo Project was made possible through the support of loyal partners: TBS, Miravision, The Pet Elite, Pet Business, Pooch Inc., Pupstyle.com, Modern Dog magazine, Sepia Pet Care School, Total Diva Pets, and Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. Pupstyle.com, the original snobby dog blog, will feature a detailed look book of products shown on the runways in Tokyo. Pooch Inc., a retailer of luxury pet products, will be selling products by the featured designers at PoochOnline.com.
